Foreign plates (non-French registration)

If your vehicle has foreign plates, you can still be insured with our short-term cover. It provides 30 days of coverage in France and across Europe, and you can renew it as often as you need. It’s ideal for a short trip in France, or while you wait for ANTS to validate your application before switching to French plates.

What's covered: third-party liability (RC) — the financial consequences of bodily injury and property damage you cause to others involving the insured vehicle. You’ll receive an insurance certificate that gives you the right to drive in France.

If you’re starting the process to get French plates, use the official ANTS website: Car registration website ↗
Once you receive French plates (if you choose to), you’ll be able to switch to our long-term plan. Until then, to stay covered with foreign plates, continue with the 30-day renewable cover.
